I purchased the Cannon paddle a few of weeks back. I saw a few reviews, and weighed up the pros and cons. I haven’t seen anyone in my area using this brand. For the price, I thought I’d give it shot. The paddle arrived a week later in great condition and well packaged - Only disappointment was - it wasn’t the limited edition version, which looks incredible. The standard Pro Cannon has a very understated and stylish design - black on black, how can it be anything but stylish?
So it looks great and it sounds great too. I really enjoy the sound it makes. I can’t tell if my serves are any faster but they certainly sound impressive - Incredibly satisfying.
Spin and control was very good. The paddle certainly worked well with my style of play. I performed so well a few of competitive and experienced players have commented the paddle made a noticeable difference to my game and wanted to look at the Cannon more closely. I lent it out and all were impressed. I know of one player that purchased the paddle and a couple more are considering it as an option (Wish I got a kickback!).
All good stuff. This review is only after a couple of weeks of use (6 x 2hr sessions) a mix of social and competitive club play, indoors and outdoors, with Onix and Franklin balls.
My only concern would be longevity, but I’ll only know that after time. The concern only comes about from the lightness of the paddle, it isn’t my lightest paddle but it feels like it is. There is nothing visually, that gives me an indication of any issues. I’ve use a tacky over grip and probably add a hex core grip at a later date. Right now I’m very impressed with the Cannon.
